What We Do
RECORD LABEL & STUDIO
Jamhouse Records is a platform for artists and change-makers in the community to share their music. Embracing all genres, the heart of this curated collection of music is rooted in folk and singer-songwriter storytelling, with empowering and meaningful messages.
Jamhouse Records also has a Studio that offers recording, production and mentorship for artists releasing music under the label. This label is open to music and creative project ideas that resonate with the Jamhouse vision and mission. For more information, visit us here: www.jamhouserecords.com.
JAM NIGHTS
Where it all began in 2010. A multi-cultural musical gathering for improvisation, dancing, and connection in community. You are invited to bring any instrument you wish and participate, regardless of your level, in a culture of listening, non-judgment, inclusivity, celebration, and expansion. Whether you're singing, moving, witnessing, or simply soaking in the experience, these jam sessions are an opportunity to play, explore, feel, and connect in community. Join us in a family-style festive ambiance and immersive experience.
THE VILLAGE FEAST
Our community pot lucks! The Jamhouse Village Feast is a moment where the community gathers to share a meal in celebration of abundance, diversity, and togetherness. Participants are invited to contribute a delicious plate of food to share - they can prepare the food in advance, bring ingredients to cook with the community, or simply bring something to add to the feast. These events are open to all, including old-timers and any newcomers who are curious to discover the Jamhouse community. The Village Feast is a fun opportunity to connect, meet new people, network, share news and updates ....and it is not uncommon for there to be jammin'!
CONCERTS
Jamhouse hosts and produces live music events showcasing different artists in the community. Whether on a local or international stage, these concerts are an opportunity to enjoy live performances and immerse yourself in the musical world of Jamhouse artists. Often lively and participative experiences, each event fosters connection through music, celebrating creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression.
SOUND JOURNEYS
These sound journeys offer an immersive experience of live music, movement, and exploration. Musicians from the Jamhouse community embark on a continuous improvisational journey, co-creating with the dancers in real-time—where movement shapes the music, and the music, in turn, inspires the movement.
Participants are invited to express themselves freely on the dance floor and dive into this ceremonial adventure, flowing through vibrant waves and colourful tones of world music, trance, meditative, tribal and folk soundscapes......each sound journey is its own vast ocean. Whether moving, witnessing, or simply soaking in the vibrations, each presence adds to the collective experience, making each gathering unique and transformative. A space to play, feel, and connect in the shared language of movement and sound.
